A Flint church encourages everyone to stop by for prayer and receive a gas card or a gift in return.
Word of Life Christian Church in Flint is hosting a “Pull Over for Prayer” event is happening this Saturday, July 24, starting at 10 am. Pull Over For Gas & Prayer is a community initiative created to provide hope and resources to the community. As the prices for gas increase and inflation continues, we hope
to relieve community members through this gas crisis.
“We are committed, focused and dedicated to our community,” says George Wilkinson, Pastor of Word of Life
Christian Church in Flint.
“Understanding that there are challenging times, our responsibility as a church, a community resource is to be a blessing,” Wilkinson added.
This event is designed to shows our organization appreciation, love and support for the community, while providing a tangible resource. With an increase in gas prices, this is an excellent time for some extra relief at the gas pump.
“Engagement & Resource is our focus. During difficult times we want the community to feel confident in our commitment to them,” said Jerome Threlkeld, pastor of worship, Word of Life Christian Church.
Our community has been impacted in unimaginable ways over the past year,” Threlkeld added.

Word of Life Christian Church has been a resource to the community since 2007. The church has provided additional events such as Candy Mountain, a bi-yearly community fun night that draws 5,000+ people in the city of Flint and surrounded areas. In addition, the church is currently a COVID testing site for residents.
