Mayor Karen Weaver survives recall attempt

By Courier Staff
FLINT, Mich. – Karen Weaver has survived a recall attempt, beating 17 other candidates in today’s local election to retain her seat as Flint’s Mayor.  According to a report published by WJRT  TV 12, her top challenger, Scott Kincaid, called Weaver around 9 p.m. to concede the race.
Weaver had been endorsed by dozens of clergy from Flint’s faith community.  Rev. Jesse Jackson also urged support for Weaver in a visit to area churches on the eve of the election.
