Genesee District Library names Curtice Taylor new William F. Delaney headquarters librarian

FLINT, Michigan –The Genesee District Library (GDL) has named Curtice Taylor as the new William F. Delaney Headquarters librarian.  Prior to joining GDL he worked as an intern for a middle school library in Hong Kong, and then as a page and public service assistant in Ohio.

Taylor says he brings an international upbringing and knowledge of young adult literature to GDL, and he will use these skills to help patrons find books they may enjoy.

According to Taylor, public libraries offer resources to people of every age and from every background in the form of books, audio and visual media, and online resources.

“I think the most important thing libraries offer to patrons is accessibility to information and entertainment,” Taylor said.  “Patrons come to the library to either find something enjoyable or learn something new, and a library that has something they want will be a place they will want to return to in the future.”

Taylor holds a Master of Library and Information Science from Kent State University.
