Flint community’s 12th Annual Tree Lighting takes place December 2

(FLINT, Mich)– Join a community holiday celebration, a TREEmendous Evening, from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, December 2, in downtown Flint, at 555 S Saginaw Street, at the corner of Saginaw and Second Streets.

Attendees will enjoy a DJ, Santa, live reindeer, hot cocoa, a free movie at the Capitol Theatre, family photos, carriage rides and more.

“This holiday season is an opportunity to lift one another, to come together in unity of support and celebrations,” said Mayor Sheldon Neeley. “The TREEmendous Evening is a wonderful community event for residents to enjoy, shop and love all things positive about our beautiful city.”

Santa will arrive at 5:15pm, and the tree lighting countdown will begin at 6 p.m.

In addition to the tree lighting activities there are discounts being offered by retailers and restaurants. Visiting these locations, even just to look around, will allow participants to enter a raffle for big prizes!

Holiday storefront decorations will light up the sidewalks of downtown Flint. Voting for the best decor will be live from November 28 until December 20.

The TREEmendous Evening is made possible through the support of Premier Security Solutions, the Ferris Wheel, the What’s Up Downtown project, Skypoint Ventures, Mott Community College, Total Benefit Systems, Inc., City of Flint, Downtown Development Authority and resident volunteers.
