City of Flint Launches Yard Waste Collection Season April 1

Flint, Mich. The City of Flint will begin its annual yard waste collection season on Tuesday, April 1, with weekly curbside pickup continuing through November 30.

Residents are encouraged to participate in the City’s Bag It!” Program by placing yard waste, including grass clippings, leaves, and small branches, at the curb on their regular collection day. Materials must be set out by 7 a.m. and placed at least 10 feet away from trash carts.

To support cleanup efforts, the City is offering free yard waste bags at three locations:

  • Flint City Hall
  • Mays Senior & Community Center
  • McKinley Community Center

Residents may receive up to three (3) bags per visit, with atwo-visit limit per household, while supplies last.

Mayor Sheldon A. Neeley encouraged residents to take part:
“Keeping Flint clean takes all of us working together. Through prayer, planning and partnership, we’re continuing to move our city forward, one neighborhood at a time.”

Residents are reminded not to rake or blow yard waste into streets or storm drains, as this can cause flooding and may result in citations.

For more information call (810) 410-1134.
