UM-Flint Ice Rink Opens Wednesday, Dec. 4

Admission free; skate rental available for $3 or bring your own

The University of Michigan-Flint Ice Rink will once again open for free community skating starting December 4 and running through February 2020. The UM-Flint Ice Rink is located at 303 S. Saginaw Street, Flint.

Skaters are urged to bring their own skates, though skate rental is available inside the University Pavilion for $3. Limited sizes and quantities.

Thanks to support from UM-Flint and sponsors such as Dort Federal Credit Union100K Ideas, and the Ferris Wheel, the Ice Rink will offer special, free skate rental dates on Saturday, December 7; Saturday, December 28; Sunday, January 19; and Wednesday, February 19.

Regular hours are:

  • Wednesdays from 6-9 p.m.
  • Friday from 5-8 p.m.
  • Saturdays and Sundays from noon-4 p.m.

An exception to these hours occurs Friday, December 29, with hours from 3-6 p.m. The rink will close for inclement weather and poor ice conditions, and cleared periodically for ice resurfacing.
