After a long search and many prayers, the church family of First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church will be officially installing their new Pastor, Reverend Ezra L. Tillman Jr., today; Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 4:00pm with our special guest, Pastor John D. Tolbert and Congregation of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Pontiac, MI. We thank the Lord for His Blessing.
A Celebration of Thanksgiving has been held at various times during this week and will culminate on today; Sunday, August 17, 2014 with our special guest at the 11:00 am Worship Service; Reverend Dr. Nathan Johnson, Pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Detroit, MI.
Pastor Tillman was spiritually nourished at the New Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, Detroit, MI, under the pastoral leadership of the late Rev. Dr. John L. Webb and was baptized in June 1989. He accepted the call of God into the Gospel Ministry in 2002. He is currently a member of the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Pontiac, MI, under the Leadership of Pastor John D. Tolbert.Prior to being called by God to lead First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Flint, MI, Pastor Tillman served as the Pastor of Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
Pastor Tillman is a native of Detroit, Michigan. Early on he was educated in the Detroit Public School, but completed his secondary education in the Ferndale Public School System. He has studied at the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, in Mid Valley California, and Moody Valley Institute, Chicago, Illinois. In 2005, he graduated from Midwestern Baptist College with a Bachelors of Religious Education (B.R.E.) Degree and is currently attending Andersonville Theological Seminary, studying in the Master of Divinity-Pastoral Leadership Program.
Pastor Tillman has a “Servants Spirit,” for God has anointed him withmultiple talents and he has served as; Assistant Pastor at the Greater Middle Missionary Baptist Church in Royal Oak Township, MI, Bible Instructor, Choir Director, Evangelist, Youth Director and was recently appointed as Vice Moderator of the Great Lakes Baptist District Association, Flint MI. He is an active Evangelist and is well sought after due to his thrilling, dynamic approach to gospel preaching and singing, and is called upon for a variety of Conferences and Revivals across the United States. He has committed himself to empowering, embracing and enriching mankind through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His favorite quote, “A charge to keep I have and a God to glorify. “
Pastor Tillman is married to the former Ms. Catrina Jones and has been blessed with three sons; Ezra Lee III, Micah Nathaniel and Isaac Christopher Tillman.
