Flint River Watershed Coalition Celebration and Open House

It’s time to party! Come celebrate with the Flint River Watershed Coalition at their new location at the confluence of the Flint River and Swartz Creek, on May 9!

The Flint River Watershed Coalition are finally in their new space and have a LOT to celebrate! This is a free family-friendly event, with food and fun for all ages.

Explore the new space and find out about GREEN, where students from local schools perform chemical testing on our waterways,  or learn about the Water Monitoring program, why people collect the bugs that live in our local streams and what we can learn from them. Have someone who likes to paddle? Make sure to talk to the Kayak Flint staff, who will be holding kayak demos from 5-6 p.m. Visi the River Kids area for fun activities and summer program information for those under 12. Connect with the Flint River Watershed Coalition Chapters; the Fli-River Anglers, Friends of the Flint River Trail and Lapeer Chapter, and don’t forget to stop to see the beautiful Flint River Mosaic inside!

Food and activities begin at 5 p.m., followed by ribbon cutting and program at 6 p.m.

The Flint River Watershed Coalition hopes to see you there!

Founded in 1998, the Flint River Watershed Coalition represents individuals, businesses, community
organizations, and local government units partnering to protect, promote, and improve the Flint River
and its watershed. These partnerships, paired with public education, scientific projects, and community
involvement, seek to ensure a healthy, vibrant, and active Flint River watershed for all. To learn more,
