Pastor Marvin A. Jennings Sr. together with Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church is planning a spectacular holiday celebration. An elegant evening of Christian comedy and live jazz featuring nationally

renowned comedian Broderick Rice, Timeless Entertainment and Flint’s own jazz bassist and recording artist, Gil Benman will be held Saturday, Dec. 15 at Swartz Creek Performing Arts Center, 8247 Miller Road. The community is invited to kick off the holiday season in grand style. Tickets are $60 per person or $100 per couple and include food.
Benman, who started playing musical instruments as a child, said performing never gets old for him. He has a significant fan following and has opened for national recording artists such as Norman Brown, Roy Ayers and Marion Meadows.
“I’m grateful to God for the gift of music,” said Benman who is the Minister of Music at Grace Emmanuel and is set to release his second CD.
He said he hopes more youth would experience the gift of music at an early age just as he did.
Today, Benman owns his own record label, Benman Music Group, as well as his own state-of-the-art recording studio.
“Music is math-based and many people don’t realize that,” he explained. “There is so much to learn and experience through music,” Benman said.
Christmas Glory starts at 6 p.m. For additional information call (810) 743-3900 or to purchase tickets online, visit the Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church website at www.gebcflint.org.
