“We greatly appreciate the support of the Dr. Jessie Muldrew Education Fund for Women and Girls for our Women in Education Fellowship program,” said Lennetta Coney, president of the Foundation for Mott Community College.

“It will enable us to provide life-changing opportunities for our female students,” Coney added.

Started in 1999, Women in Education program provides non-academic support to women students to enable them to continue their education without interruption due to financial or personal crisis. The program offers non-traditional financial support, personal and professional guidance and mentoring.

The WIE Fellowship curriculum is designed to teach personal and professional development skills including critical and creative thinking, conflict resolution, decision making and practical life skills, as well as encourage and support personal self-esteem. The relationships established between WIE Fellows and their mentors are critical to building solid foundations for their educational experiences while at Mott Community College as well as prepare them for entering the world of work.
