Flint4Flint announces next phase foster program: empowering higher education for Flint’s foster care graduates

Flint, MI – May 2, 2024 – Flint4Flint, a dedicated non-profit organization committed to the revitalization and support of the Flint community, proudly announces the launch of its groundbreaking scholarship program, the Flint4Flint’s Next Phase Foster Program. Designed to empower and support foster care members who have graduated from high school and are pursuing higher education, this initiative marks a significant milestone in the organization’s ongoing mission to uplift and transform lives in Flint, Michigan.

Recognizing the unique challenges faced by foster care youth transitioning into adulthood and higher education, Flint4Flint has developed this program to provide crucial financial assistance and support to deserving individuals. The Next Phase Foster Program aims to alleviate the financial strain often experienced by foster care graduates, ensuring they have the resources and stability needed to pursue their academic and personal goals.

Key features of the Flint4Flint’s Next Phase Foster Program include:

Monthly Stipend: Recipients of the scholarship will receive a monthly stipend, which will be paid directly to their landlord, program, or other relevant entity, depending on the most effective means to alleviate financial burdens. This support is intended to assist with housing expenses, ensuring that recipients can focus on their education without worrying about accommodation costs.

Eligibility Criteria: To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must be 18 years or older, enrolled in college or about to enroll, and actively involved in community service initiatives.
