Fatal traffic crash occurs in Flint over weekend

At approximately 2:07 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, a fatal injury traffic crash occurred near the intersection of Pierson Rd. and M.L. King Ave.

Flint Police Department was conducting traffic control in the 5500 block of N. Saginaw Street when the driver of a maroon Chevrolet Impala Sedan refused to stop for police attempting to make a traffic stop. Officers in a fully marked patrol vehicle with activated red and blue lights, positioned their patrol
vehicle behind the Impala and approached the driver of the vehicle. As officers approached the vehicle, the driver accelerated from the traffic stop traveling at a high rate of speed. As officers returned to their patrol vehicle, continuing in the last know direction of the Impala, officers observed the vehicle had lost control crossing the center line striking a white Cadillac Sedan traveling E/B on Pierson Rd.

Victim # 1: the driver of the maroon Chevrolet Impala, Vondreece Davis (Male) DOB: 03-15-1996, was pronounced dead at the scene. It was discovered the driver had an active felony arrest warrant for concealed weapons violations through the 7 Circuit Court.

Victim # 2: the driver of the white Cadillac Sedan, Tony Bell (Male) DOB: 11-06-1998,  was transported to Hurley Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Speed, alcohol and/or drugs are believed to have been a factor in this crash.
