Flint, MI — Essence Wilson, co-founder and chief strategy officer of Communities First, Inc., has been selected to join the inaugural cohort of the Community Development Voice initiative by the Community Opportunity Alliance. This new initiative unites 30 distinguished community development leaders from across the nation to amplify their voices and insights on critical issues affecting underserved communities.
The Community Development Voice initiative is designed to elevate the perspectives of those on the frontlines of community development, influencing policy decisions, informing funders and advocating for marginalized communities. “I am deeply honored to be named as a Community Development Voice representative,” Wilson said. “This initiative presents a unique opportunity to leverage our collective experiences and insights to drive meaningful change and support the communities we serve. I look forward to working alongside my peers to advocate for policies and practices that enhance equity and opportunity for all.”
