Communities First, Inc. to Host the 2025 Levitt AMP Flint Music Series: A Celebration of Free Live Music and Community Connection 

10 Bands from Across the Globe Will Perform in Flint May 27 through Sept. 30
Flint, MI – Bands from around the world will hit the stage in Flint this spring, summer and fall for the 2025 Levitt AMP Flint Music Series.
Communities First, Inc. (CFI) is thrilled to announce that it will serve as the official host and organizer of this year’s music series, bringing 10 free, family-friendly concerts to wonderful public spaces in Flint from May 27 through September 30.
With generous support from the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, CFI was awarded a $30,000 Levitt AMP grant, matched by community contributions, to celebrate the joy and unity that free live music fosters in public spaces.
“This is more than a music series—it’s about creating a place where people from all walks of life can come together and feel a sense of belonging,” said Glenn Wilson, president and CEO of Communities First, Inc. “We’re proud to be the new organizers of this amazing series and excited to continue its legacy while expanding its impact across Flint. Music is something that brings us all together!”
The Levitt AMP Flint Music Series builds on the successful foundation laid by Jazz on Wheels, the presenter of this series in 2023 and 2024, and will feature 10 diverse music acts from across the globe, including groups from Ukraine, Boston, Grand Rapids, Louisiana, Florida, New York City, Detroit and Chicago. The series transforms everyday spaces into vibrant gathering places.
All concerts are free to the public, with food trucks, games and local community resources available at each event.

  • Tuesdays (6:30–8:30 p.m.) at Totem Books’ back lawn, 620 W. Court St., Flint (Parking is available at the Stockton House, 720 Ann Arbor St., and in the overflow parking lot of the White Horse Tavern, 621 W. Court St., Flint.)

    • July 22The Claudettes (Chicago – Blues/R&B with Punk Spirit)
    • August 19Kommuna Lux (Odesa, Ukraine – Odesa Urban Folk)
    • September 2Laura Rain & The Caesars (Detroit – Retro Soul/R&B)
    • September 16Mexicuba (Grand Rapids – Latin Fusion)
    • September 30Curley Taylor and Zydeco Trouble (Sunset, LA – Louisiana  Zydeco)
  • Special Event:
    • Friday, August 1 (6:00–8:00 p.m.) at Flint City Hall back lawn, 1101 S. Saginaw St., Flint
      • Chambers DesLauriers featuring Annika Chambers & Paul DesLauriers (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida – Blues Rock/Soul)
      • Followed by Movies Under the Stars (a Communities First signature event)
