Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint & Genesee County first virtual event in 76 years to benefit families with added stressors during crisis

During this COVID-19 season, Big Brothers Big Sisters continues to enroll, match and support one-to-one mentoring relationships through virtual, facetime, phone and other online platforms.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint & Genesee County will present their 2020 Bigs of the Year, Milestone and Community Partner Awards at a Virtual Celebration on at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, November 14. Local celebrity and Big Brother Dr. Bobby Mukkamalawill host the online event. Longtime Big Brother, Craig Coney, will celebrate 45 years and is the event honorary chair. The proceeds from the Big Celebration #KeepKidsConnected benefit families who have added stressors during this crisis including job loss, isolation, health, and education insecurity and limited technology access.

Joe Ryder Leadership Award – Advocates for Police and Community Trust

The public is invited for an evening of defending potential, dining, entertainment and commitment to strengthening the resources necessary to sustain the impactful a youth-serving organization.

The event, sponsored by Big John Steak & Onion, will celebrate the diverse community of supporters who uplift the organization’s mission to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
