Audition Notice for the Kearsley Park Players 2015 “Theatre in our Parks” Summer Theatre Festival: Shakespeare in the Park back for its 11th season!
Open auditions are being held for the Kearsley Park Players 2015 “Theatre in our Parks” season. Productions this season will include Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night”, the children’s theatre fairy tale “Jack and the Beanstalk” and the Gilbert & Sullivan comic musical “The Mikado”. The season finishes with the classic Oscar Wilde comedy, “The Importance of Being Earnest”. All productions will be directed by Kay Kelly.
Auditions will be held on Monday, April 13 and Tuesday, April 14 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Flint Institute of Music, 1025 E. Kearsley Street in Flint.
Parts are available in each show for performers of all ages. Technical Crew is also needed. Those auditioning for the musical should prepare a song from “The Mikado”. A piano accompanist will be available. Audition sides will be available for the other productions. All members of the company will be paid $50.00 per production thanks to a generous grant from the Ruth Mott Foundation.
“Theatre in our Parks” is presented by the Genesee County Parks Commission and the City of Flint Parks Department. Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” will be presented June 12-21; Children’s Theatre “Jack and the Beanstalk” will be presented July 9-12, the musical “The Mikado” will be presented August 12-23 and “The Importance of Being Earnest” will be presented September 24-27. Various productions will be staged at Kearsley Park, Linden County Park, ForMar Nature Preserve, Flushing County Parks with “The Mikado” and “The Importance of Being Earnest” being performed at the Colwell Opera House at Crossroads Village.
