Lions get a 17-3 victory in Minnesota

By: Alex LaGrone

Prior to last Sundays game against the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions quarterback, Matthew Stafford, had been sacked 17 times. This in a total of five games.  Enter Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

The Lions sacked Bridgewater 8 times to help the Lions to a 17-3 victory in Minnesota. The Vikings offensive line had no answer for the Lions defensive front line. Bridgewater, the rookie QB paid the price. Bridgwater, who threw three interceptions, was on the run all day.

The victory put the Lions in 1st place in the Central Division. If you may remember, last week I picked the Vikings to beat the Lions (that's because Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush were both hurt). The NFC's top rated Lions defense came up big again.

Stafford mustered up 185 yards passing. Running back, Joique Bell, started in place of injured Bush and ran for 74 yards and 1 touchdown. Lions placekickers have missed 10 field goals so far this season.

Up next for the Lions is Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. Brees is one of the leagues top quarterbacks. Will the Lions defense met the challenge? Brees is not Bridgewater. Both QB's wear #9. Which one will be better this Sunday? How about those Lions…Lions over the Saints.
