The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc.-Gamma Delta Chapter is now seeking applicants for the National Undergraduate Scholarship Award.

This scholarship is specifically for students planning a career in education. The field of education is broad and includes roles such as speech therapists, school social workers, counselors and college professors.

The award provides a $6,000 scholarship to one male and one female student from the Midwest region.

Genesee County has proudly had nine outstanding students received this honor, with Earl Hall Jr., a Beecher High School graduate, as the most recent recipient. The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc.-Gamma Delta Chapter is asking the community to help them identify other deserving candidates interested in pursuing education as a profession, as the field greatly needs talented individuals.

The deadline to return completed applications, a 2×3 photo, an official sealed transcript and letters of recommendations is February 1, 2027.

For more information, or to request an application, call Linda Burroughs at 810-730-4662.
