The IMA Recreation Association’s 13th Annual Community Salute will have a new twist this year when Dr. Bobby Mukkamala & Dr. Nita Kulkarni are honored on Thursday, October 22, 2015.  “This is the first year that we have honored two individuals at the same event and the fact that they are husband & wife should make the evening even more entertaining” said Diane Wojciechowski, Marketing Director for the IMA Recreation Association.  “The IMA’s Board of Directors unanimously agreed that they were both very deserving of this great honor due to the time and support they give back to their community”.

The 2015 Community Salute will be held at IMA Brookwood Golf & Banquet Center in Burton.

The IMA has created a great tradition of honoring local influential community members through the Community Salute.  All proceeds from the 2015 Community Salute will benefit The First Tee of Eastern Michigan whose mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.  Past honorees include Cal Rapson, Joe Spielman, Guy Briggs, Dr. James E. A. John, former Lt. Governor John D. Cherry, former Congressman Dale E. Kildee, John Matonich, Dr. Thomas Svitkovich, University of Michigan Regent Libby Maynard, former Mott Community College President Dr. Dick Shaink, Dr. Samuel Dismond and local businessman Phil Shaltz.   The tradition continues in October of 2015 by honoring Dr. Bobby Mukkamala & Dr. Nita Kulkarni at the thirteenth annual Community Salute.

Individual tickets and sponsorships will also be available.  For information, contact Diane Wojciechowski at the IMA Recreation Association at (810) 249-7060 or email dwojo@imarecreation.org.
