The YMCA of Greater Flint and Y Safe Places will be holding a Family Fun Fest on Wednesday, August 4 from 4 – 7 pm and River Park Apartments Community Center, 7002 Pemberton, Flint. The event is free and open to the public and will feature a water slide, face painting, and food as well as vendors like Hurley Wellness Services, CrimSports, Tapology, STEMnetics, African Drumming and more. The event welcomes students to the Y’s free Afterschool program which operates from 4-7 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Community Center. Safe Places is an enrichment, exploratory and recreation program that supports students’ academic, physical, emotional and social development with holistic programs and activities that help students realize who they are and all they can achieve.
Another Family Fun Fest will be held from 4 -7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11 at Flint Development Center, 4121 Martin Luther King Ave, Flint.
