Viewing, funeral service and burial plans for the late Councilman Eric Mays announced

Friday, March 22
Viewing – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
House of Prayer Missionary Church

Saturday, March 23
Funeral service – 11 a.m.
House of Prayer Missionary Church
1851 W. Carpenter Road
Flint, Michigan 48505

Burial immediately following funeral service

Flint, Michigan 48504

Eric HaKeem Deontaye Mays and the Lento Law Group thanked the owners and employees of Paradise Funeral Chapel for their assistance and professionalism over the past few weeks.

The siblings of the late Councilman Eric Mays agreed to release his body to the funeral home of his son’s choice. The late Councilman Eric Mays’ remains were transferred to the Paradise Funeral Chapel in Saginaw between the evening of March 11 to early in the morning March 12.

The late Councilman Eric Mays had a large following in Flint and also had followers around the country.

Until 5 p.m. on Monday, March 18, the Flint City Clerk’s Office is accepting applications to fill Mays’ 1st Ward seat on the Flint City Council on a short-term basis.

The Genesee County Democratic Party Black Caucus is hosting a town hall at noon on Friday, March 15, where they will present information to 1st Ward residents about the appointment process. Residents interested in the City Council seat should bring resumes or biographies, as well as letters of interest.

The town hall will be held at First Union Baptist Church, at 7004 Fleming Road.
