Victim’s name released in fatal July 4 shooting

At approximately 9 a.m. July 4, on the 2600 block of Begole Street, Flint Police responded in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim, Jerome Simpson, a 23-year-old Black male. Simpson appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, a Black male juvenile, was located, arrested and lodged in the Juvenile Justice Center.
