Two weekend traffic crashes in Flint leave victims dead

At 2:47 p.m. on Saturday May 1, a traffic crash occurred on S. Dort Hwy. near E. Atherton Rd.

The on-scene investigation revealed that the victim’s vehicle, a black SUV was exiting a business drive and was struck by a black Chevrolet Malibu that was traveling N/B on S. Dort Hwy.

The victim was transported to Hurley Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. Next of kin was unable to be notified.

Speed, alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to be a factor in this crash. The investigation is ongoing. At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Sunday May 2, a traffic crash occurred on W. Court St., near Ann Arbor St. in the City of Flint.

The on-scene investigation revealed that a black Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling E/B on W. Court St. failed to negotiate a corner and ran off the roadway into a grassy median.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin was notified.

Speed is believed to be a factor in this crash and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs are a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
