Three dogs captured and euthanized after seriously injuring Flint residents

Written by Tanya Terry

Officers have captured and euthanized three dogs that seriously injured Flint residents, according to Genesee County Animal Control.

The officers believe an additional female dog is still loose, along with two puppies. They are under the impression the dogs have been traveling in and out of abandoned homes in northeast Flint. For this reason, it may be difficult to find and capture them.

A 55-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after he was attacked near East Ridgeway Avenue and North Street area. A 45-year-old woman had to have her arm amputated below her elbow after being attacked on the 1000 block of East Foss Avenue. Both incidents occurred on March 4, and Flint Police suspect a pack of pit bulls for both.

If anyone sees one of the loose dogs, they should avoid approaching them. It is also suggested people remain in groups when outside in northeast Flint and consider carrying pepper spray or a large stick.
