(Flint, Mich., 06/16/2025) – The Genesee County small business community is invited to attend “Grow on the Bridge”, an evening of connection, at General Motors Factory One, 303 W Water St, Flint, on Thursday, June 26, from 5 – 7:30 p.m. This free event, hosted by the Flint & Genesee Small Business Support Hub as part of the Flint & Genesee Business Bridge and funded by Huntington Bank, will connect small business owners to local resources to help their businesses grow and thrive.

“Our team is committed to ensuring that our small business community has the support they need to make their business successful,” says Karena Hamlet, program director of business services for the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance. “For this year’s annual Business Bridge event, we wanted to have multiple partners together to showcase how we work with businesses, as well as hear from the business owners that have taken advantage of these services.”

The program will start with a panel of local resource partners, including the Small Business Support Hub, Latinx Technology and Community Center, the Michigan Black Business Alliance and the East Michigan APEX Accelerator. Following the resource panel, Business Bridge members will share their experiences of growing their businesses during The Entrepreneur’s Chair panel session.

Participants will have time to meet and network before and after the panels, as well as connect with Small Business Support Hub partners DOXA Development, Metro Community Development and the Small Business Development Center. Dinner will be proudly catered by talented members of Business Bridge.

The Flint & Genesee Business Bridge launched in 2022 to be a resource for businesses and entrepreneurs from historically marginalized communities. The Business Bridge acts as a directory for those looking to work with businesses from the community, and a platform for B2B and to find Requests for Proposal. Information about these tools will be shared during this event.

Grow on the Bridge, an evening of connection, is a free event for local small businesses, entrepreneurs and those interested in small business services. Pre-registration is required, and seating is limited. To register for the event, visit developflintandgenesee.org/event/grow-on-the-bridge-an-evening-of-connection.
