FLINT, Mich. Shelter of Flint recently announced the support of the Junior League of Flint in sponsoring a salsa garden for the children staying at its shelter. This hands-on project will offer children an engaging opportunity to learn about gardening, nutrition, teamwork and responsibility through a fun and meaningful shared experience.
Through the salsa garden, children at Shelter of Flint will have the chance to help plant, water and care for fresh produce such as tomatoes and peppers, and later enjoy the experience of using those ingredients together to make homemade salsa. Activities like these help children build confidence, develop practical skills and enjoy the rewarding process of nurturing something from seed to table.

Officer at Shelter of Flint.
