Pop-up COVID-19 testing event to take place Dec. 21

The Genesee County Health Department, MDHHS and Genesee Health Plan have partnered to offer pop-up COVID-19 testing from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on December 21. This event will be held
Genesee Health Plan: 2171 S. Linden Road. Testing is available for all: no pre-registration required, no insurance needed and no need for a prescription or doctor’s order. Getting tested is an important step in reducing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Everyone is encouraged to get tested on a regular basis whether they are experiencing symptoms or not. All Genesee County residents are urged to take precautions:
– Wear a mask/cloth face covering in public places,
– Maintain physical distance of at least 6 feet from those outside your household,
– Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol when soap and water are unavailable), and
– Stay home if you feel sick or are experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness.
If you have been exposed to someone with symptoms or a positive COVID-19 test, quarantine at home for 10 days and monitor your symptoms for a full 14 days. If you begin experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, get tested and follow isolation guidance. For more information on testing sites, quarantine and isolation guidance and daily COVID-19 case updates, visit www.gchd.us/coronavirus.
