Over 300 Flint youth attend Safe & Clean Summer Job Event

FLINT, MI — More than 300 young people attended the Safe & Clean Summer Initiative job application event Thursday evening at the Clio Road Service Center, demonstrating a powerful demand for youth employment and community involvement.

The City of Flint is now actively seeking additional vendors and community partners to help meet the high demand and provide meaningful work opportunities for Flint youth ages 15 – 19.

“We are proud of our young people and encouraged by their enthusiasm to make a difference,” said Mayor Sheldon Neeley. “This response makes it clear—our youth are ready to work, and the administration will continue moving forward to create these opportunities.”

Organizations and vendors interested in participating or hosting youth workers this summer should contact the City of Flint at 810-766-7346.

The Safe & Clean Summer Initiative is part of Mayor Neeley’s ongoing efforts to promote public safety, empower young people, and beautify Flint neighborhoods through hands-on engagement.
