FLINT–Mission Possible recently announced the launch of the second cohort of its Asset Savings and Achievement Program (ASAP), a yearlong financial literacy and matched-savings initiative designed to help Flint residents build long-term wealth and economic stability.

The 2025–2026 program is made possible through the generous sponsorship of Financial Plus Credit Union and Community Foundation of Greater Flint.

The inaugural cohort of ASAP concluded in 2025 with inspiring results. Participants not only
improved their financial knowledge and saving habits but also achieved tangible milestones, including starting and expanding small businesses and purchasing reliable vehicles, starting or expanding a business, or even starting an stock market investment account that helps their families thrive.

Building on this momentum, the second cohort will again support low-to-moderate income Flint residents in achieving financial goals such as homeownership, small business development, vehicle purchase, education and—new this year—investment accounts. Participants commit to saving $500 over six months, which Mission Possible matches with up to $3,000. They also attend monthly financial literacy workshops and asset-based education sessions to equip them with knowledge and tools for long-term financial security.

“ASAP is more than just a savings match—it’s about breaking down barriers and opening pathways to wealth building for families in our community,” said Gianna Oliver, program manger of Mission Possible.

Oliver added: “The impact of our first cohort was inspiring, and this second cohort will continue to prove that Flint residents are ready to own their financial future. We are thankful for the sponsorship of Financial Plus Credit Union, whose support strengthens our ability to reach more families.”
