Men’s Health First, in partnership with the City of Flint, will host a free Men’s Health & Resource Fair on Saturday, June 27, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the McKinley Senior Center, located at 249 Peer Ave. The event is open to the public and designed to connect men and families with critical health screenings, educational resources and support services.
Attendees will have access to free health screenings, health education resources, local service providers and opportunities to speak directly with healthcare professionals about issues impacting men’s physical and mental well-being.
“Far too many men avoid going to the doctor until a health issue becomes serious,” said Mayor Sheldon A. Neeley. “This event is about changing that narrative by bringing resources directly into the community and encouraging men to prioritize their health, wellness and future.”
Shebra Ward, public health manager for the City of Flint, emphasized the importance of preventative care and community outreach.
“Health disparities continue to impact communities across the country, especially among men who often delay care or ignore warning signs,” said Ward. “By providing free screenings, education and direct access to local resources, we are creating opportunities for residents to take control of their health before small issues become major health challenges.”
Dwayne Parker, CEO of Men’s Health First, said the initiative is designed to create lasting community impact beyond a one-day event.
“Our goal is not simply to host a health fair — it is to start conversations, build trust and encourage men to become more proactive about their health and wellness,” said Parker. “When individuals have access to information and resources in a comfortable environment, it can lead to earlier diagnoses, healthier lifestyles, and stronger families overall.”
The Men’s Health & Resource Fair is free and open to the public.
