McLaren Flint’s Trauma Program to host free fall prevention fair September 7

FLINT, Mich. — In honor of Fall Prevention Awareness Month in September, McLaren Flint’s Trauma Program will be hosting its Fall Prevention Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m on September 7 at the Hospitality
House at McLaren Flint, G-3170 Beecher Rd., Flint.

Healthcare providers will be on-hand to answer questions and help those who attend reduce the risk of
falling by identifying risk factors and modifying them. Additional experts participating include a
horticulturist and Tai Chi instructor.

The following interprofessional team members will be on hand:

• Dietician
• Horticulturist
• Nutritionist
• Occupational Therapist
• Pharmacist
• Physical Therapist
• Rehabilitation Providers
• Tai Chi Instructor
• CarFit Educators-see below

CarFit is a free educational program that offers older adults the opportunity to check how well their
personal vehicle fits them. The CarFit process includes education on mirror adjustments, how close the
driver sits to the steering wheel, seatbelt adjustments and much more.

The Fall Prevention Fair is free and no registration is required.
