McCree Theatre ready to serve the community in its new home

The “New” McCree  Theatre has moved to a home of its own at 4601 Clio Road, and eargerly awaits to serve the community. It is kicking off its 2021-2022 Season of activities with a FREE Saturday Day Camp for youth ages 5 – 13, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. starting Saturday September 11, Monday through Thursday, for 15 weeks. Workshops will consist of round-robin classes in drama, dance and vocal music. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The theatre will also launch its FREE afterschool workshops and classes in dance, drama and vocal music for children and youth ages 5-18 starting September 20. Outcomes for the vocal music workshops include creation of a Community Children’s Choir and a Community Youth Choir. Workshop and classes in dance and drama will culminate with a stage production. The number of participants for each workshop is limited due to COVID-19 restrictions. Open registration has begun and is on a first-come first-served basis. To register stop by the theatre office 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday, or call (810) 787- 2200.

PLEASE NOTE:  The theatre will practice safety protocols for each of its program components, emphasizing, sanitized classrooms and restrooms, social distancing and mandated masks for all participants.
