Mayor Neeley & State Representative Neeley host Mother’s Appreciation Brunch

Flint, MI — Mayor Sheldon A Neeley and State Representative Cynthia Neeley are inviting mothers to attend a special Mother’s Appreciation Brunch on Saturday, May 9, from 11a.m. – 2 p.m., at the Mays Senior and Community Center.

This free event is open to all mothers. It will honor the vital role that mothers and mother figures play in strengthening families and building a more connected community. The brunch will highlight the City’s commitment to Prayer, Planning & Partnership, a guiding approach that reflects unity, intentional action and collaboration in serving Flint mothers.

Attendees will enjoy a warm and welcoming atmosphere featuring food, fellowship and meaningful moments of appreciation dedicated to the women who inspire, nurture and lead in our community.

“Mothers are one of the most powerful forces in our community,” said Mayor Sheldon A. Neeley. “This brunch is an opportunity for us to show our gratitude, and celebrate the love, strength and resilience of mothers across the City of Flint.”

This event is being personally funded by Mayor Sheldon A. Neeley and State Representative Cynthia Neeley. In its fourth year, this meaningful celebration also holds personal significance for the Neeleys, who both lost their mothers in 2022 just one week apart. The event serves as an opportunity to honor their mothers’ legacy while recognizing and uplifting mothers throughout the Flint community.

Tickets: Free tickets can be picked up in advance at the Mays Senior and Community Center prior to the event.
