Twenty-eight-year-old Davonte Walker, radio personality of the DWalk Show, is the newest edition to the Flint Courier News team!

Walker has been working hard to bring products and businesses into Shops on Saginaw, located in the Dryden Building downtown. He has an office in the Ferris Wheel downtown, where he also interviews guests for his show. In addition, he has a roadside assistance business called Rescue Roadside.

Walker is a former attendee of International Academy of Flint. He also is a graduate of Ross Medical Education Center, where he trained as a pharmacy tech; and he spent time at Mott Community College.

“I’m kind of interested in medicine and how it works, but once I start doing it, I started turning into a full blown entrepreneur,” Walker said. “It just came out of nowhere. I wanted to start my own business, and then I just went from there.”

Walker is not only a self starter, but one who likes to complete tasks he spends his time doing to the best of his ability.

“I’m a leader and a very good salesperson,” he said.

Walker has had his radio show for well over two years. On it, he interviews other entrepreneurs and up and coming artists.

“My goal is to help people with whatever they’re doing through my show.”

Walker said he likes to be productive with his time because he feels time is “the most valuable thing in this world.”

“I have fun. I like to travel. But, for the most part, I like to make the time the most productive as it can be.”

Walker said he is honored to work for the Courier. He likes how the printed newspaper is set up, how the publication highlights so many people in the community and its ability to help local businesses.

“All I can say is, we’re about to make some big stuff happen this year.”
