Nov. 23 Informational session on water lawsuit settlement being hosted by city of Flint

Mayor Sheldon Neeley has asked the city’s attorneys in the water lawsuit settlement to host an informational session to provide accurate information to residents. The informational session will be broadcast live at 2 p.m. Monday Nov. 23 at the city of Flint’s Facebook page and YouTube Channel. The broadcast will also be available on the city of Flint’s website and on public access television.

“This is about transparency and about making sure that residents have access to accurate information regarding the proposed water lawsuit settlement,” Neeley said. “We’ve already seen lots of misinformation out there. This is an opportunity for residents to hear directly from the city’s attorneys on what this settlement would mean to residents.”

During Monday’s informational session, city attorneys and the city’s outside counsel will give an overview of the settlement and answer frequently asked questions.

The detailed settlement agreement has been submitted to Judge Judith Levy of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, which allows the city to openly discuss details of the settlement.
