Hasselbring Senior Center to host a free neighborhood mini concert Saturday, June 26th

Hasselbring Senior Center is inviting the community to attend a free neighborhood mini concert introducing The Dynamic Dancing Diamonds and featuring Flint’s own, vocalist Gwen Pennyman Hemphill taking place at Hasselbring Senior Center on at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 26.

This event will provide an opportunity for area residents to meet and partner in strengthening their neighborhoods. It also includes an opportunity for anyone needing to be vaccinated the chance to do so. There will be food, vendors, raffles and lots of fun. Bring your lawn chairs and umbrellas or enjoy the concert from your vehicle. All are welcome!

This is the first of a three-part series of mini concerts being hosted this summer. These free events are made possible through the generous donations of Genesee Health Systems, Comcast, Hamilton Community Health Network, Valley Area Agency on Aging and HAP-Health Alliance Plan.

“It is our duty to do what we can to bridge the gap in neighborhood connections among residents,” said Beverly Lewis, the Hasselbring Senior Center executive director.

“In creating opportunities for north Flint residents to meet and collaborate, we can assist with the task decreasing crime in north Flint.” Lewis added. “Residents want a neighborhood they can be proud of, and we’re here to help in any way we can”.

Located at 1002 W Home Ave in North Flint, Hasselbring Senior Center serves as a gathering place for residents and community organizations. A variety of services are provided to area residents including health & fitness classes, education courses, social services, outreach and nutrition services.
