GENESEE COUNTY, MI – Genesee Health System (GHS) will host a community open house for the new GHS Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) on Wednesday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1040 West Bristol Road, Flint.
“We’re looking forward to showing the entire community this new location,” said Jen McCarty, Chief Operations Officer of GHS. “The new Behavioral Health Urgent Care will expand vital mental health services. GHS is one of the few agencies statewide offering this new type of treatment that bridges the gap in our community between hospital and outpatient care. Our commitment is to create an environment that gives hope and helps move toward recovery for those in crisis who don’t need an inpatient stay.”
The $8.2 million expansion is funded through the Genesee Health System Community Mental Health Millage and a grant from the State of Michigan Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) pilot program, a statewide effort to expand mental health services.
The community will get a tour of the new facility. The GHS Behavioral Health Urgent Care, currently located at 422 W. 4th Avenue, will close to move all services to the new location this summer.
