Career readiness and leadership skills program available at local high schools, virtually

First session starts Sept. 21, 2026

(Flint, Mich. 09/10/26) — Starting Sept. 21, students in Genesee County have the chance to participate in TeenQuest. The career readiness and leadership training program run by Flint & Genesee Education & Talent, a division of the Flint & Genesee Group, offers a chance to learn real-world skills that are needed to get and keep a job.

“We are excited to partner with local schools to help teach our local teens important skills they will take with them into a career, college, or trade school,” says Brianna Mosier, executive director of Flint & Genesee Education & Talent. “To make this program equitable to students who may have conflicts after school, our team offers a virtual option open to all Genesee County students.”

This first session of TeenQuest will run after school at the following locations:

  • Southwestern Classical Academy — Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Virtual — Monday through Thursday

The second session of TeenQuest starts Oct. 26 at the following locations:

  • Beecher High School — Monday through Thursday
  • Grand Blanc High School — Monday through Thursday
  • Virtual — Monday through Thursday

The program is open to all students who live in Genesee County, are ages 14-19, and are currently in grades 9-12 at a local school, including homeschool and charter schools.

TeenQuest benefits go beyond job preparation. Students also learn life skills they can carry with them, such as character development, conflict resolution, a positive mental attitude, financial literacy, goal setting, and taking initiative.
