Genesee Health Plan to host second ‘Flu Drive-Thru Vaccine’ event Dec. 10 for staff, family and community members

COVID-19 vaccines including boosters, testing locations and flu shots will be provided

 FLINT – To continue to help Genesee County residents stay healthy Genesee Health Plan (GHP) will host a second “Flu Drive-Thru Vaccine” event from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10 with support from community partners. Attendees can roll down their window and roll up their sleeve to receive their vaccine in an easy and safe way. Flu vaccine for children ages 5 and older, COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, & Janssen/J&J) for ages 12 and older and third dose vaccines and booster doses will also be available. Additional services at the event will include COVID-19 information and testing sites. Vaccines provided by the Genesee Community Health Center Mobile Unit.

 No out of pocket cost to attendees.

Recommended COVID-19 safety guidelines will be followed. Masks or face coverings are required for all attendees.

*Event may be canceled due to inclement weather or COVID-19 restrictions. If canceled, notification will be on the GHP website (geneseehealthplan.org), on GHP social media and the local news.

 The Flu Drive-Thru Vaccine Event is in recognition of the National Influenza Vaccination WeekDecember 5-11, 2021, and is a call to all Americans 6 months and older to get their annual flu vaccine if they have not already. Since COVID-19 and flu could spread simultaneously, this week will serve to remind people that there is still time to get a flu vaccine to protect against flu illness and serious flu complications, such as worsening of chronic conditions or pneumonia.
