Genesee Health Plan to host community ‘Drive-Thru Vaccine Event’ event September 9

Flu and COVID-19 vaccines, Naloxone (NARCAN) training will be provided

FLINT – To continue to help Genesee County residents stay healthy, Genesee Health Plan (GHP) will host its fall “Drive-Thru Vaccine Event” from 3-6 p.m. on Friday, September 9 for community members, current and former GHP members and city of Flint residents, including the deaf and hard of hearing community. Attendees can roll down their window and roll up their sleeve to receive their flu vaccine in an easy and safe way. First and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna) for ages 12 and older will be provided by the Genesee Community Health Center.  Participants will have the chance to win a gift or gas card.

 

Naloxone (NARCAN) basic training will be provided by Genesee Community Health Center to show individuals how to identify an opioid overdose and safely administer the reversal drug. Free training kits will be available.

Ice cream, back-to-school giveaways for children and a clothing giveaway for adults and children of all ages will be available to attendees. There is no out of pocket cost to attendees. ASL interpreters will also be available.

Recommended COVID-19 safety guidelines will be followed. Masks or face coverings are required for all attendees.
