Genesee County Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Commission is now accepting applications for pair of seats

The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Commission serves as an advisory commission to the Genesee County Board of Commissioners.  The Commission is comprised of members of the Board of Commissioners, county employees and community members.

The goals of the commission are to increase awareness of social injustice and its effects, to improve fair and equal treatment for all, to enhance the county’s reputation as being welcoming to all, and to equip and empower people to resolve social justice issues by focusing on:

  • Health equity
  • The Board’s policies and budget priorities
  • The hiring, training, diversification and projects related to county employees
  • Public safety
  • Procurement

The DEI Commission is currently accepting applications to fill two seats that will become vacant on May 31, 2024.  The application process is open until Friday, April 19 at 5 p.m.

Application Details:
This application opened Monday, April 8 and closes Friday, April 19 at 5 pm. Applications can be submitted through Google forms, via email, and in-person hard copy.

Ways to Apply: 

  • Google Application Link will require the use of a Gmail account to save progress. The application must be completed and submitted by 5 p.m., April 19.
  • Word Document which can be downloaded and edited to include your responses to the commission’s questions. This must be submitted via email to Equity@geneseecountymi.gov by 5 p.m. on April 19th.
  • Paper copies will also be available to be picked-up at the Genesee County Administration Building. 1101 Beach St., in Human Resources on the 3rd Floor, Room 337. Completed forms must be completed and returned to Human Resources by 5 p.m. on April 19.
