Flint Prayer Chain Day

The eighth annual Adopt-A-Street on Flint Prayer Chain Day is scheduled for the weekend of the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), Saturday October 4th, 2014 starting at noon. The event will begin with a rally in front of City Hall on Saginaw Street at 6th Street with inspiration, prayer, praise and music at noon. At approximately 1:30 pm, groups representing the body of Christ in Flint will disperse to their chosen stations throughout the entire City of Flint! This year we want to try to cover the entire city which means we will need more participation amongst the churches and ministries across town. We covet your help and support in getting all of the Churches at Flint to come outside that day, line up along Saginaw Street or in front of their own churches in their own neighborhoods. From these stations the groups will continue to minister throughout the afternoon with gospel music, food, prizes, clothing, essentials and most importantly, prayer. A post event rally may be held (location TBD) at 4:30 pm for testimonials and more prayer.

The goal of the event is to seek God's intervention in Flint specifically addressing the problems of  violent crime, unemployment, poverty, and blight to name a few. It is hoped that the Unity of the Christian Body here in Flint will become evident to the community as a result of this effort.

Churches and others who wish to participate can receive a street assignment by registering with the event coordinators on the website www.flintprayerchain.org. Sponsors are needed to defray expenses – if you'd like to contribute contact Evangelist Geneva. Red is the official color of the rally and if possible, participants should wear a red garment to the rally (logo items are available for purchase separately). There is no cost to attend or participate in this event.

It is hoped that each ministry that wishes to participate would send a representative to our planning meetings! Dates, times and location are all posted on the website www.flintprayerchain.org.
