Flint & Genesee Group’s 40 Under 40 returns, nominations now open

(Flint, Mich. – April 20, 2026) Nominations are now open for the Flint & Genesee Group’s 40 Under 40, a biannual recognition program that celebrates the region’s brightest young talent. The 40 honorees — all under the age of 40 — will be publicly recognized this September in a special edition of AND, the Group’s bimonthly business magazine.

“We have an incredible community of young professionals who are making a real impact in their careers and across our region,” said Tim Herman, CEO of the Flint & Genesee Group. “They could take their talent anywhere, and we’re proud they continue to invest it here in Flint & Genesee. The 40 Under 40 program gives us the opportunity to recognize their leadership and influence in our community.”

Nominations are due via online submission by 11:59 p.m. Friday, June 5. Honorees will be selected by a committee comprised of local business and community leaders.

To be eligible, nominees must:

  • Be 39 years or younger as of December 31, 2026.
  • Spend most of their work time in Flint & Genesee or work remotely for an employer headquartered in Genesee County. Or, if employed outside of Genesee County, must hold a leadership position in a local community organization and be a resident of Flint & Genesee.
  • Demonstrate leadership as a business owner, executive, manager, or professional or hold a role with significant influence and impact within their field or community.
  • Be new to the 40 Under 40 recognition program, which is a one-time honor. For complete listings of the 2022 and 2024 honorees, visit AND.flintandgenesee.org.

Additionally, self-nominators must provide a letter of support from their president/CEO or direct supervisor. Self-employed individuals must provide either a letter of support from a professional reference or client.
