Alliance among six recognized by Business Facilities for mid-sized economic development agencies
FLINT, Mich. — The Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance has been recognized for its efforts to drive capital investment, job creation, quality of life, and more by a national publication that covers economic development and issues related to site selection.
Business Facilities recognized the Economic Alliance’s work to attract a job-creating project to the Advanced Manufacturing District of Genesee County. The Economic Alliance was among six mid-sized economic development organizations representing an area with 100,000-500,000 residents recognized by the publication and one of 24 from across the country.
The publication cited the Economic Alliance’s work to prepare the Advanced Manufacturing District of Genesee County in an effort to grow the region’s economy and attract a new advanced manufacturer.
“Our team is so proud to be recognized for our work to grow our local economy and provide jobs to our incredible workforce in Genesee County as well as future generations,” said Tyler Rossmaessler, the executive director of the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance.
Rossmaessler added: “It’s validation of our mission to turn around decades of job loss and create opportunities for young people so they can build a life here.”
The 1,000-acre Advanced Manufacturing District of Genesee County is well positioned to attract a project that will create thousands of jobs and pump millions of dollars of new revenue into the region and state, carrying Genesee County’s manufacturing heritage into the future.
“The 2024 entries spanned a broad range of organizations and strategies, reflecting the importance of vision and teamwork when it comes to achieving economic growth,” said Anne Cosgrove, editorial director of Business Facilities.
Cosgrove added: “While the organizations nominated vary by size and scope, their innovation and resourcefulness shone throughout all the winning entries. From workforce development to tech ecosystems and housing issues, the ideas represented focus on the dynamic nature of economic development and corporate site selection.”
