Flint City Council select Ladel Lewis as its newest president

The Flint City Council has selected Ladel Lewis as the new president of the council. Lewis, who previously served as vice-president, is the council person for the city’s 2nd Ward. Lewis’ seat as president was solidified after seven rounds of voting when she received votes from five of nine council members, including herself, Quincy Murphy (Ward 3), Judy Priestly (Ward 4), Candice Mushatt (Ward 7) and Eva Worthing (Ward 9).

The council also elected newcomer Candice Mushatt as vice-president. Mushatt was appointed to fill the vacancy left in the seventh ward after Allie Horkenroder resigned in June of this year.
