Flint church to host post-election Community Prayer Breakfast with civic leaders

FLINT–St Paul’s Episcopal Church will host a Community Prayer Breakfast in downtown Flint
on Friday, November 14.
Along with local faith and civic leaders, guests will share a meal and reflect on the post-election work of building our community through engagement and collaboration.
Former Michigan Lt. Governor John D. Cherry Jr., a member of St. Paul’s and one of the breakfast organizers, described the purpose of the event, saying: “Our intent is to just spend some time together as neighbors, pray for the welfare of our city, state and nation, help move past the election season, and go out to do the
work we’ve all been given to do.”
The program will include prayers and remarks by Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson, Michigan State Representative Mike Mueller, Flint Mayor Sheldon A. Neeley, Genesee County Clerk and Register of Deeds Domonique Clemons and faith leaders from the greater Flint community.
The keynote speaker will be Dan Kildee, president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. This fall, Kildee also began a three-year appointment as the Griffin Endowed Chair of American Government at Central Michigan University. Kildee served as a Member of the U.S. Congress from 2013-2025, representing Michigan’s 8th and previously Michigan’s 5th congressional district. He is a graduate of
Central Michigan University. He is married to Jennifer Kildee and has three adult children and two grandchildren. Kildee enjoys hunting, fishing, cycling, golf and is an avid drummer.
Donations are encouraged and can be made at the event.
The breakfast will take place at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (711 S. Saginaw Street Flint, MI 48502) from
8 – 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 14.
Registration is required due to limited seating, and those wishing to attend should
