Flint Branch NAACP 44th Annual Freedom Fund Dinner to take place October 10, with keynote speaker is Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II

The Flint Branch NAACP has announced their 44th Annual Freedom Fund Dinner, which will
be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 6 p.m., (with a VIP Reception from 5-6 p.m.). This black-tie
gala will be held at St. Michael’s Conference Center, 609 E 5th Ave, Flint, MI 48503.

This year’s theme is “We, The People.” The keynote speaker is Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II.

The country is celebrates its 250th anniversary in 2026.

The NAACP notes that this country is governed by the U.S. Constitution, which begins with the reminder “We, The People…” Not the politicians. Not the wealthy. The People.

According to NAACP.org, the organization’s mission is to mission is to achieve equity, political rights, and social inclusion by advancing policies and practices that expand human and civil rights, eliminate discrimination, and accelerate the well-being, education, and economic security of Black people and all persons of color.

The Flint Branch of the NAACP continues to work toward edifying the community through the implementation of initiatives which focus on alleviating health and educational disparities, promoting financial equity, addressing labor discrimination and providing scholarship endowments to Genesee County
students.
