~~Flint Area Educational Foundation Announces Its 2015 Scholarships

The Flint Area Educational Foundation is pleased to announce its scholarships for students in Genesee County who will graduate in the class of 2015.  The FAEF was organized to combine the scholarships of the Divine Nine Greek Letter Organizations in order to award larger scholarships to African American high school students in Genesee County.   
The following scholarships are available on the website of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, www.cfgf.org
Flint Area Educational Foundation General Scholarship is designated for high school seniors who demonstrate academic potential and economic need. LeVert/Nina Jones Scholarship is designated for African American students with academic potential, economic need and have been adversely affected by substance abuse. Clinton B. Jones Scholarship is designated for an African American with academic potential, economic need and plans to attend the University of Michigan-Flint.
 Applications must include an official transcript with ACT/SAT scores, proof of financial need, evidence of community service and two letters of recommendation.  Finalists will be interviewed in the event that there is a tie.  Funds for the Flint Area Educational Foundation are managed by the Community Foundation of Greater Flint.  Scholarship Chair is Georgia Terrell McCall and can be reached at (810) 785-2578. 
All materials must be postmarked and returned by April 15th.  Mail or fax applications to Community Foundation of Greater Flint, 500 South Saginaw Street, Flint, Michigan 48502.  Fax to (810) 767-0496.  Scanned applications may be emailed to scholarship@cfgf.org.
