Five Candidates File for Flint Mayoral Election

Five candidates have filed to run for mayor of the City of Flint.  The filing deadline was Tuesday, April 23. The candidates include, Incumbent Mayor Karen Weaver; Tonya Burns, president and CEO of Global Security Protection; Greg Eason, a former administrator for the City of Flint; Sheldon Neeley, a member of the State House of Representatives for the 34th District, and Don Pfeiffer, who has run for mayor on two prior occasions.

The candidates have until Friday, April 26 to have their petitions validated or to withdraw. The top two candidates in the Aug. 6 primary will advance to the general election Nov. 5.
