On Saturday April 10 at approximately 8:03 p.m. a traffic crash occurred on Welch Blvd. near Lavender Ave.
The on scene investigation revealed a red Dodge Ram was traveling E/B on Welch Blvd. at a high rate of speed. The Dodge Ram lost control, ran off the roadway, striking a tree.
The victim: Willie James Boone Jr. M/B/9-24-72, was pronounced deceased on scene. Next of kin was notified.
It is believed that speed is a factor in this crash. It is unclear if alcohol and/or drugs are a factor in this crash.
